50 Mile Race

Course Map Adrenaline Radio
Hello All, Adrenaline Radio would like to congratulate Carlos Dones and Miguel Verduzco on completing the Annual Avalon Benefit 50 Mile Run.

The race was held on January 14, 2012 at the Crescent & the Pier, in Catalina Island.  The course is a 50-mile out and back run on fire roads from Avalon to Isthmus and back.  The course runs through the island’s interior, which is typically closed to the general population.

The run begins at 5AM and participants have 12 hours to complete the event, I’m proud to announce that both Carlos and Miguel finished before the 12 hour mark and received their metals for completing the event in time.

This event is a charity run and all proceeds remain on the Catalina Island and benefit local charities, youth programs, school scholarship funds and other needy organizations.

Participants came from all over the United States including Florida, Minnesota, Texas, and Hawaii.  The Avalon Benefit is a part of the SoCal Ultra Series and participants range in age from 80 years all the way down to 18 years.

Our very own Carlos Dones completed the race in 10:42:27 (Ten Hours, Forty Two Minutes) and Miguel Verduzco finished in 11:53:40 (Eleven Hours, Fifty Three Minutes)
